The Clear Creek Watershed Foundation defines sustainable watershed management as:
Improving and protecting the natural resources of a watershed by integrating ecological, economic, and social perspectives.

For a watershed to be sustainable, there must be a synergy among environmental health, economic prosperity, and social values. CCWF’s role is to consider these perspectives through ongoing communication with stakeholders.
Our goal is to encourage and facilitate the broader application of watershed sustainability practices. Specifically, CCWF is working to provide jurisdictions, agencies, and developers in the watershed with information and tools to make sustainability-focused decisions regarding environmental restoration/protection activities and development practices.
To promote sustainable
natural resource management thoughout the entire Clear Creek Watershed and serve as a model for the arid mountain west.
