Since 1994, CCWF has operated a “storefront” presence in the Idaho Springs Heritage Museum & Visitor Center with a 600-square foot National Park-caliber interpretive center (see map). The Clear Creek Watershed Exhibit highlights the results of collaborative watershed-wide clean-up actions.
In 2005, CCWF and DRMS partnered to design and build an interactive kiosk with information on mining history, mineral use and mined land remediation. This kiosk is on display at the Colorado Department of Natural Resources building during the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo and in the Watershed Exhibit the rest of the year.
In the near future we hope to update the Watershed Exhibit to highlight our watershed sustainability efforts. With nearly 60,000 local, national and international visitors each year, this information is reaching a lot of people!
